Glasses try-on (Tuned Try-on)

A customer tries frames on live with the phone camera, at their real size.

Steps

  1. Open /try-on on a phone or tablet and click “Turn on the camera”.

More: Click “Turn on the camera”

The /try-on page works in the browser, with no account and no app. The camera image stays on the phone: we don't send anything. The browser asks for permission to use the camera.

    Click “Turn on the camera”

Open /try-on on a phone or tablet and click “Turn on the camera”.

  2. Pick “Frame”, “Frame colour” and “Lenses”, and the frames change on the face right away.

    More: Pick the frames

The frames are life-size: the try-on measures the distance between the pupils from the camera. When the head covers a temple arm, the arm hides behind it, like in a mirror.

    Pick the frames

Pick “Frame”, “Frame colour” and “Lenses”, and the frames change on the face right away.

  3. Click “Take a photo” to save or share yourself in these glasses.

    More: Click “Take a photo”

The photo is only on the phone. “Save photo” saves it on the phone, “Share” sends it on, for example to friends for their opinion.

    Click “Take a photo”

Click “Take a photo” to save or share yourself in these glasses.

  4. Record a few seconds of slowly turning your head and look at the frames from the side with your finger.

More: Click “Record a head turn”

Before recording you see one sentence about saving: up to 30 frames stay only on this phone, for 30 days at most. “View my turn” shows them again and “Delete my recording” deletes them at once. In a shop open /try-on?kiosk: nothing is saved and “Next customer” clears the screen.

    Click “Record a head turn”

Record a few seconds of slowly turning your head and look at the frames from the side with your finger.

  5. In the company menu open “Frames” and click “Add a frame”.

    More: Add your frames

Quickest: paste a link to the frame's page in your shop or drag in its photo, and we fill in the name, photo and size when the page gives it. Then check the rest. Enter the name, shape, the size from inside the temple (e.g. 52□18 140), colours and lenses. The “Show to customers” switch shows or hides a frame right away. On the list, click a thumbnail to see the photo large; a frame without a photo shows a drawing of its shape. We switch Tuned Try-on on for opticians ourselves. Without your frames the try-on shows 12 built-in ones: prescription, sunglasses, women's and men's. When a frame has a photo, we read its shape and colours from it, and the try-on draws the frame from that reading; a photo from the front or at an angle on a light background works best.

    Add your frames

In the company menu open “Frames” and click “Add a frame”.

  6. “Link and QR” has a code for customers and a link for the shop's tablet.

More: Give customers the link and QR

Customers scan the code with their own phone and see your logo and your frames. The tablet link opens shop mode: nothing is saved and “Next customer” clears the screen.

  7. The customer picks a frame, colour and lenses and enters a name and a phone or e-mail; you get an e-mail and a request in “Requests”.

More: Get “I want these glasses”

The e-mail goes to you and to team members with alerts on. After contacting the customer click “Done”: the request and the customer's contact are deleted. After 90 days we delete them ourselves.

    Get “I want these glasses”

The customer picks a frame, colour and lenses and enters a name and a phone or e-mail; you get an e-mail and a request in “Requests”.

  8. Plug three USB cameras into a computer and open the “Computer with three cameras” link from “Link and QR”.

More: Three cameras in the shop

The customer sees themselves on the monitor from the front and both sides at once, like in a mirror. Above each view you pick the camera, at the bottom the picture quality. When a camera gets too few frames, add light, lower the quality or plug it into another port. The picture stays on the computer: we record nothing and send nothing. Every view shows the same frames as the try-on.
